We had a bit of time to spare before heading off to Boulogne to catch the ferry so we went via Quends Plage, a little seaside resort which was amazing for us as it had real sand!! After living in England for a while now, we get used to seeing beaches with 'pebbles', more like cricket ball sized rocks, but let's call them pebbles for now. The beach shops had the usual bright and sparkly bits one has to have for a day at the sea plus there were plenty of restaurants where you could stuff your face with mussels, mussels and more mussels!![](//photos1.blogger.com/blogger/2205/2158/400/DSC00570.jpg)
Overlooking a tiny section of the beach. People were swimming in it without wetsuits! We had to go down and test the temperature of course and it wasn't too bad. It beat Cape Town and England....no numb toes and/or frozen VW bonnets although I didn't venture in that far.

Beach babes and blokes below. Whilst we were testing the water they were striking a gentlemanly pose on the promenade. You can see we are in the north of France as opposed to the south as there is a tractor in the background of the Rick and Graham photo instead of a yacht.![](//photos1.blogger.com/blogger/2205/2158/400/P1010082.jpg)
It was time to leave France. Karin looks like she doesn't trust Graham and that he is about to make her test the Boulogne beach waters. June is hanging on for dear life like she is expecting the cat to turn into a bucking bronco and Rick is nowhere to be seen because he was below desks hanging on to a handrailing somewhere like he too thought that he was about to get turned upside down by wild waves.
